What Are The Advantages Of Plate-fin Radiators?

Aluminum plate-fin radiators use seals and fins as heat transfer elements. It is composed of a core and a head. The core contains channels.

Place the fins between the two plates of each channel and seal them with gaskets on both sides. According to different fluid flow modes, the cold and hot fluid channels are stacked at a certain interval, arranged and brazed into a whole to form a plate bundle. Two fluid flow modes include counter flow, cross flow and cross flow. The two fluids exchange heat in the countercurrent baffle.

The main advantages of plate-fin radiators are:

1. High efficiency. Due to the interference of different types of fins on the fluid, the boundary layer of thermal resistance is constantly updated, and the heat transfer coefficient is generally three times that of the shell-and-tube radiator.

2. Compact. Most of the heat is transferred through dense fins, so the heat transfer area per unit volume is high.

3. Lighter weight.

4. Sturdy. The plate-fin radiator is a whole, and there are seals and fins between the whole to support it, so it can withstand higher working pressure.

Wide range of applications. Aluminum has good low-temperature properties, so it is especially suitable for low-temperature equipment and power plants.
